Trains in Honduras
Trains in Honduras were built by the banana companies at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. Today there are only 3 sections in use. The longest among San Pedro Sula and Puerto Cortés is used only for freight. The medium between La Unión de la Atlántida y Campo Salado Barra is also known as the train coconuts, because carrying coconuts apart from tourists to the Refugio de Vida Silvestre Cuero y Salado. The shorter runs within La Ceiba from 6 am to 6 pm every 30 minutes and carried passengers.
